From over-weight & out-of-shape to Ironman! When I joined 4D Racing, I could barely run a 5k. I came in knowing I wanted to complete Triathlons but lacked structure. For 3 years now Dustin has helped provide me with programing, education, advice, motivation, and everything I needed in a coach! He’s helped me grow as an athlete, adapt when necessary, and foster this unknown love of endurance sports. Every goal I’ve had he’s been fully supportive, realistic with what’s possible, and took every step to help me get there! I’ve learned when to listen to my body and when to push harder because I’m here to get better. Dustin consistently took my for feedback in order to scale my programing up as I improved or adjust & adapt as my outside life became more demanding. Hiring Jessica Jones as a coach was the smartest decision I could have made as a beginner triathlete. In less than a year, her training pulled me from a back-of-the-pack racer to repeated podium performances. Her support and coaching have resulted in successful completion of my first Ironman and several 70.3 races. She caters my workouts to fit my busy schedule, and when life happens, Jessica is there to adjust my training plan so that I don’t fall behind. You’d be hard pressed to find another coach who cares as much about your personal and athletic growth. The 4D training plan is not just about building strength and confidence, but also character. My teammates are some of the most supportive athletes you’ll find on any course. 4D can’t be beat.
“I came from a running background and had very limited cycling experience when I started training with Coach Will. He has transformed my swimming, cycling, and running along with my mind set towards training and racing. COVID forced many of my major races to be rescheduled within weeks of each other. He never doubted he would have me ready to race. With his coaching and encouragement, I successfully completed 70.3 Memphis and Ironman Texas followed by a personal best at the NYC Marathon three weeks later. “I first met Coach Will shortly after I had just completed my first sprint triathlon at age 49. I figured trying to qualify for the Ironman World Championships in Kona was the biggest goal in triathlon. I really had no clue what that entailed, and I was a busy physician with a family and the usual obligations. I had no endurance background my having been a high jumper in college and a blackbelt in Taekwondo. Will laid out the plan, and all I had to do was stick to the plan and check off the green boxes. He took away all of the guesswork and it paid off. On my second attempt at the full distance IM in Maryland, I qualified for Kona coming in 3rd place in my AG at age 53—after just 3 1/2 years of training and working together. Since Kona has been postponed for 2 years now, my new goal has been adjusted—to be Coach’s first podium finisher at the Ironman World Championships. This has been a life changing endeavor for me to really look deep into the soul to see what I’m made of. It certainly hasn’t been easy, but it has been simple and fun.
